Moin moin! Join one of our expert guides and Discover Hamburg today! This 2.5-3 hour walk takes you through the 1200 year history of Germany’s wealthiest city. From a fort on a hill to one of the world’s most important ports, Hamburg is a city full of stories.

On this stroll through Hamburg’s historic old town you’ll take in the stunning 19th Century neo-renaissance Town Hall, with more than 600 rooms, built at the peak of Hamburg’s fortune. As we delve deeper into history of the Free City we will visit the charming historic Deichstrasse, and learn how the Great Fire ravaged the old town, inadvertently making way for Hamburg’s era-defining red brick ‘Kontor House’ buildings. Taking a hard look at the darkest days of German history, we will have a chance to explore the former St. Nikolai Church, once one of the finest examples of neo-gothic architecture in Europe, the tower now stands as a memorial for the tens of thousands of victims of the allied air raids of World War Two.

Your tour will finish in the Speicherstadt, not only the most beautiful corner of town, but Hamburg’s first UNESCO World Heritage site! Here you will see the gorgeous warehouses that used to store anything and everything shipped down the river Elbe before it made its way to the rest of the world. The former warehouses now make up one of the trendiest districts in the country, let alone Hamburg! The jewel in the crown is of course Hamburg’s shining new concert hall, the Elbphilharmonie, which you can visit for free after the tour.

Beer Tour

When? Fridays: 7:30 pm
Meeting point: Hotel Pacific, Neuer Pferdemarkt 30-31, 20359 Hamburg
Connection: U3, Feldstraße

You can’t think of Germany without thinking of healthy helping of frothy beer. This means that the craft beer scene has smashed into the traditional German brewing scene, and you really have to try the results.
On this tour we’ll take you on a beer tasting adventure across Hamburg. We’ll make sure that you get a great idea of the traditional types of German beer, and then we’ll make sure to blow you away with the latest and greatest. Alongside the tastings you’ll have a chance to buy-and-try a couple of beers for yourself so that you too can (responsibly) become an expert in the Hamburg beer scene.
Along the way there will be a chance to pick up snacks to fuel the fun, and we’ll finish somewhere where you can order a little food, but more importantly stay all night if you want to!

Note: This tour is for guests 18 years old and over. This a beer tasting tour, not a pub crawl. We reserve the right to eject anybody from the tour for drunken/inappropriate behaviour.

Gourmet Coffee Tour

Meeting point: Jakobikirchhof 22, 20095 Hamburg, Germany
Connection: U3, Mönckebergstraße

We are very proud to be offering Hamburg’s first ever weekly coffee tour. Discover some of Hamburg’s best-kept secrets, get an in-depth look at world-famous Speicherstadt, and finish your tour at the best coffee store in town, so that you can take a piece of Hamburg home with you (and then drink it!)
The coffee houses of Hamburg were some of the first in Europe. Owing to those first shipments some 400-years ago coffee has become a way of life in the city on the Elbe. From the high-end to hipster, from tradition to chain stores, from a quick cup on the go to an afternoon in a micro-roastery, coffee is everywhere in this town! This tour blends Hamburg’s coffee scene with its history and UNESCO World Heritage architecture.
Starting in the city centre we will meander alongside the canals, over pretty bridges, winding our way through the charming red-brick architecture of one of Europe’s most important ports. Along the way we’ll take you to some of those little unknown spots you’d never find on your own, we’ll visit a museum, and then we’ll finish up in the heart of Hamburg, around the corner from the beautiful new concert hall, the Elbphilharmonie.
